Voter Registration Day

The Merced County League of Women Voters will participate in National Voter Registration Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the library, 2100 O St. If you have a new address or have recently moved to the Merced area, you need to register again. Call (209)723-5996.

55-year reunion

Coyote Fest

The Northside Pet Connection will hold the Dunk Tank at this year’s Coyote Fest on Saturday at Coulterville Park, at Highways 49 and 132. Tony Howie and the Copper Holdings Company Bank will provide the entertainment.

Church anniversary

Bear Creek Nazarene Church will celebrate its 90th anniversary at 6 p.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Sunday at the church, 1717 E. Olive Ave.

Serving all veterans

ATWATER The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9946 has been serving the needs of veterans and their families for more than 62 years and welcomes any veteran whose service included combat or a combat operation. The post can assist veterans in receiving any benefits connected to their service at 1390 Broadway. Call (209)358-7724.

Hinds Hospice gala

Hinds Hospice will hold its annual gala Friday at Vista Ranch and Cellars. Entertainment includes music, dancing, a 50/50 raffle, poker run, and live and silent auctions, along with dinner and wine. Tickets are $75 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available. All proceeds will benefit the hospice. The Big Valley Travel Club has day and overnight trips that are open to the public, including the Sierra Repertory Theatre, Saturday, 2p.m., $75; “Shrek” at Roger Rocka’s in Fresno, Oct. 6, 1 p.m., $89; A Day at Apple, Oct. 11, $59; San Francisco Bay Cruise on the USS Potomac, Oct. 17, $115; Guide Dogs for the Blind ceremony, Oct. 19, $79; and Ireland, June 8 to July 4, $4,305.
