Drivers fail to stop for pedestrians

Safe driving

Again and again we drive around town and there are so many who have forgotten they are not alone on these streets, school is in session and people walk across roads, and yet no one seems to think they need to stop.

A red sign means to stop. No one stops as people cross in crosswalks. Maybe DMV needs to rethink letting people go so long renewing their licenses by mail. Maybe people need to take driver’s tests more often. Red means stop and that law isn’t for some. It’s easy to see how people tend to feel it’s OK to act like a really smart driver, cutting off other drivers and kids walking across the roads to school. In truth, all they’re doing is making people mad and roads unsafe. When are we going to work on this?
