Merced City Planning Commission meeting

Merced Camera Club meets

The Merced Camera Club invites all who are interested in photography to their meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Merced County Farm Bureau, 646 S. Hwy. 59. Meetings will be held through December. Call (209) 382-0222 or (209) 761-0260 for more information.

Parkinson’s Support Group

State Farm Insurance will host the September Business Connector at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 830 W. 19thSt.

Northside Pet Connection Volunteers needed

The Northside Pet Connection’s Spay/Neuter Voucher Program may have to close due to lack of board members. Board members are needed by the annual dinner meeting on Friday or the organization will have to close its doors. To help or volunteer, call (209) 878-3134.

Books to movies

The Livingston Library will show the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” at 10 a.m. Saturday at 1212 Main St. Afterward, there will be a discussion comparing the film with the book on which it’s based.

Merced Senior Community Center dance

The Merced Senior Community Center will host a dance from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 22 at 755 W. 15 St. Tickets are $8 at the door and music by Just Friends. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Stribling Nelson Music Fall Recital

The Stribling Nelson Music Studio will hold its Fall Recital at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 350 W. Yosemite Ave., with a reception after the recital. Admission is free. Call (209) 725-3404.

Hinds Hospice gala

Hinds Hospice is scheduled to hold its annual gala Sept. 27 at Vista Ranch and Cellars. Entertainment includes music, dancing, a 50/50 raffle, poker run, and live and silent auction with dinner and wine. Tickets are $75 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available and all proceeds will benefit the Merced Hinds Hospice. Elks Lodge Charity Golf Tournament

The Merced Elks Lodge will hold a Charity Golf Tournament with a check-in time of 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 28 at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands. Cost is $75 and includes green fees, cart and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Call (209) 704-2049 or (209) 742-7346.
