Constitution Day observance at Modesto Junior College

— The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project will present a Constitution Day Observance featuring Stephen R. Routh, speaking on “The Congress, the President, and the Power to Make War,” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Forum 102 on the east campus, 435 College Avenue.

The event is open to the public and admission is free. Campus parking is available for $1 in student parking lots.

Routh is chairman of the department of political science and public administration at California State University, Stanislaus, where he has taught for 11 years about constitutional law, civil liberties, administrative law, judicial process, Congress, the presidency and elections.

In addition, he is serving as the interim associate dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Stanislaus State and is a visiting professor of political science at the University of California at Davis. For more information, contact professor Elizabeth McInnes at mcinnese@mjc.edu or (209) 575-6299.
