EMPIRE TO MEET:
The Empire Union School District board will meet at 6 tonight at the district board room, 116 N. McClure Road. Trustees will introduce new teachers at the start of the meeting and hear a parent’s concern regarding Islamic history and culture being taught in seventh-grade history classes. STAN UNION TO MEET:
The Stanislaus Union Elementary School District board will meet at 7 tonight at the district office, 2410 Janna Ave., Room 11. AWARD FOR LYSCO:
Former Davis Principal Lynn Lysko, now assistant superintendent of education services in Atwater Elementary, was awarded the Walden University Frank Dilley Award for her doctoral story, “An Analysis of Governance Policies and Practices in One School District Regarding English Learners.” Lysko received her doctor of education degree in 2012 from Walden.
