— Close to 200 vintage vehicles and more than a thousand spectators are expected to attend the "Super Sunday at the River" car show at Hen- derson Park in Snelling.

Valve Burners member Tracy Ledford of Winton said Sunday's event will run from 7 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m. The show, in its 24th year, is a benefit for Hinds Hospice. This is the third year the event has been held in Snelling.

Ledford said hot rods, muscle cars, classics and customs from 1975 and earlier are welcome to attend.

FFA members will provide a tri-tip and linguica lunch and vendors will be selling automotive- related wares. Raffle prizes will be awarded along with about 20 awards for outstanding vehicles.

Valve Burners member Judy Ledford said a pre-event rendezvous will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Lowe's home improvement store on West Olive Avenue in Merced.

Participants in last year's show came from all over Merced County, the Bay Area, Fresno and Visalia areas. Spectator admission is $4 and there is a $25 entry fee per car.
