U.S. should not stay home

September 4, 2013

Regarding the letter “Americans should stay home” (Sept. 2): Shame on you. You said we should mind our own business. Assad killed those innocent people, including children, with chemical weapons. What if the United States had turned a blind eye when Hitler gassed all the Jewish people? You probably wouldn’t have the freedom to write your shameful letter.

If someone was hurting your children, I’ll bet you would want someone to intervene. It’s time the president starts making decisions instead of campaigning. His leaving it up to Congress gets him out of trouble if he makes the wrong decision.

Let’s all mind our own business. Next time I see a crime in progress, I’ll just shut my door and hope it goes away. What a way to think.
