When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Shelby Sutter, junior, Enochs High School

When I was a little kid, I wanted to be a fairy princess and frolic in a meadow all day.

Dominique Germann, freshman, Modesto Junior College

I wanted to be a veterinarian, but no chickens allowed!

Gabriella Germann, sophomore, Central Valley High

Believe it or not, when I was little, I wanted to be a cat when I grew up. It was a few years later when I realized that wouldn’t happen.

Julie Fogarty, junior, Central Catholic High School

For the longest time, I really wanted to be a marine biologist. I loved reading the “Dolphin Diaries” series when I was younger and I decided that’s what I wanted to do with my life. The characters lived on a yacht and studied dolphins for a living. It sounded like fun!

Taylor Menezes, senior, Central Catholic High School

When I was really young, I wanted to be a paleontologist. Then when I got a little older, I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian or an author. Today, I’m trying to decide between going into the dairy business and being a dairy vet/nutritionist, etc., or becoming a sign language interpreter.

Toshali Katyal, junior, Modesto High School

I went through several phases, from a gardener to astronaut to an author, but for the longest time, I really wanted to become a teacher. I had the urge to teach whichever grade I was currently in at the time! I also wanted to have my own tree house and travel back in time whenever I wanted like Jack and Annie! It may or may not still be a life goal of mine.
