Don't pick on the sheriffs for not enforcing gun laws

August 29, 2013

In your Tuesday editorial “Sheriffs don’t get to pick laws they will enforce,” you guys, as usual, forgot to mention how the federal government does the same thing with many of the immigration and marijuana laws. They just look the other way and don’t enforce those laws. Yet you want to pick on the sheriffs for not wanting to enforce laws that are clearly in violation of the Second Amendment.

I mean really, what part of the Second Amendment do you not understand? “The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The Modesto Bee, like many of today’s newspapers, is full of articles with a left-wing ideology that often is based on secularism and progressive thinking. Neither has any roots or bearing in this town. So write your silly articles and opinions and continue to swim upstream with your ideology as your paper loses more subscriptions and followers.
