— The Modesto Junior College football team, 10 days before its season opener at Merced, will have its annual Blue-White Game, a controlled scrimmage tonight at 6:30 at MJC Stadium.

"We will try to make it as close to a live game as we possibly can. There will also be some kicking and special teams at the end," MJC head coach Sam Young said.

The Pirates, about 95 prospects strong, eventually will hand out jersey numbers to 84 players. Many will be kept as redshirts. MJC's preseason also featured a scrimmage last Saturday.
