No incentive to slow tuition hikes

Your article “Costlier Diplomas” (Aug. 20) identifies the culprit in the rising cost of a college education. With the federal government providing billions in student loans, colleges and universities have no incentive to stop the increasing costs for tuition and will not take it upon themselves to make higher education affordable.
