Assembly Bill 131 misguided in its aim

August 25, 2013

Assembly Bill 131 is trying to lift the statute of limitations for victims of sexual abuse by priests and employees of private schools. But this bill is clearly biased because it is only targeting the Catholic Church and other private institutions.

Are priests the only ones who commit these abuses? What about teachers in public schools, their victims don't count? I'm in favor of lifting the statue of limitations but it should be apply to public schools too.

Please act ASAP because this bill can pass at any moment. For more information: www.cacatholic.org.
