SONORA — An open house fund-raiser is planned from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Curtin Mansion on Columbia Way in Sonora.
The open house may be one of the few occasions to tour one of Sonora's finest examples of Victorian architecture, according to Joe Sparagna, event organizer and chairman of the Tuolumne County Historical Society Landmarks Committee.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at www.TCHistory.org or at the Tuolumne County Museum, Mountain Home Gifts, Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau, Day-O Plaza and Mountain Bookshop. Tickets will not be available at the door.
Docents in period dress will provide information and answer questions during the open house. Proceeds will benefit operation of the Tuolumne County Museum and its programs, including new museum exhibits and research on local history.
