TURLOCK — Six suspects were arrested on suspicion of stealing firearms and other items from homes in Turlock on Wednesday morning.
Turlock police officers responded to a call of a possible burglary in progress on the 2000 Block of Roth Court. A concerned resident had called to report a suspicious vehicle in the area, parked in a neighbor's driveway.
Police responded to the scene at about 9:17 a.m. and found the car in question with several subjects inside. Officers said they then performed a traffic stop in the area of Countryside Drive and Roth Court, where one of the subjects from the car fled on foot.
He was captured after a short foot chase and taken into custody along with the other people in the car, police said. Officers reported finding stolen property including two rifles, a shotgun, a handgun, a wallet and a cell phone.
Arrested were Modesto residents Arturo Morales, 18, Joey Mosqueda, 18, and Ricky Florez, 23; Ceres resident Monique Romero, 18; and a 17-year-old male and female from Modesto.
All were were booked on on two counts of burglary and criminal conspiracy; the adults in the Stanislaus County Jail and the minors in Juvenile Hall.
