— Several people were arrested during raids at two Modesto businesses where police said illegal gambling took place.

The investigation into the businesses began about three weeks ago when members of the Police Department's Crime Reduction Team received anonymous complaints from members of the community and local businesses.

Police spokeswoman Heather Graves said search warrants were served at Modesto Business Center, 1940 Crows Landing Road, and Business Mobile Solutions, 3900 Pelandale Ave.

At the Modesto Business Center, more than 50 computers and $802 in cash were seized. Sonia Haro, 37, of Modesto was cited on suspicion of running an illegal gambling establishment, and Kenneth Sims, 49, of Modesto was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.

At Business Mobile Solutions, 30 computers and $833 in cash were seized. Kevin Fleck, 43, of Simpsonville, S.C., was arrested on suspicion of running an illegal gambling establishment.

The investigations were a part of an ongoing effort to keep illegal gambling out of Modesto, Graves said.
