Nuts win eighth in a row on Massey home run

August 20, 2013

The torrid Modesto Nuts extended their winning streak to eight games Tuesday night en route to an impressive 11-5 victory at Visalia.

Tyler Massey's three-run homer in the fourth broke a 2-2 tie and put Modesto ahead to stay, and a six-run sixth clinched it.

Taylor Featherston started the game with his 10th homer, as the Nuts increased their lead over the Rawhide to four games with 13 left in the California League's North Division.

Consecutive doubles by Featherston, Brian Humphries and Jared Simon keyed the Nuts' five straight hits in the sixth inning.
