MODESTO — Stanislaus County home prices are soaring this summer, jumping $5,000 this July to a median sales price of $180,000.
That's 30.4 percent or $42,000 above what houses sold for a year ago, according to just-released information from DataQuick.
San Joaquin County prices increased even more, jumping to a median $230,000. That's 39.4 percent or $65,000 more than July 2012. Tuolumne County prices are more stable.
The median-priced home there sold for $165,000 in June and July. That's up 13.8 percent for $20,000 compared with a year ago.
