— Four west Modesto residents have been temporarily displaced by a Friday fire that started in an outdoor cooking facility near the rear of their home.

The fire was reported at 12:36 p.m. in the 2300 block of Robertson Road.

Burbank Paradise Fire Department Capt. Chris Bernardi said an ambulance crew in the area spotted the fire and reported it.

Bernardi said the fire spread to the home and into the attic, but firefighters had it knocked down within five minutes.

The home’s four residents were not home. Bernardi said the fire’s cause is accidental.

A damage estimate was not available. Bernardi said the four residents are staying with family until their home is fixed.

The Modesto Regional Fire Authority helped in fighting the blaze by providing two engine companies, one truck company and a battalion chief.
