I couldn't believe what I was reading ("Changing hands: Officials opt to drop corridor project consultant," Aug. 3, Page A-1). An official speaking about the new travel corridor north of Modesto eventually ending up south of Oakdale "assuming" that they could start building now despite environmental concerns.
I'm sure many environmental organizations and attorneys for them are rubbing their hands in anxious anticipation. They are ready to rake in considerable funding when their lawsuit finally wins in our liberal court system, costing the taxpayers millions and benefitting these organizations at the taxpayers' expense.
Do it right or don't do it at all. I'm tired of paying for mistakes!
