Posted by Marijke Rowland on August 12, 2013

— At its last board meeting Aug. 6, Turlock Unified School District trustees approved the permanent appointments of two administrator serving in interim positions.

Dana Trevethan was named assistant superintendent of educational services, replacing Lacrisha Ferriera. Trevethan took over the position as interim assistant superintendent in January. She was previously principal at Turlock High School principal.

In turn, Marie Peterson has filled Trevethan seat as interim principal at Turlock High since January. She has previously served as assistant principal.

Both permanent appointments were made by unanimous vote.

As previously reported, Turlock Education Foundation President Barney Gordon was appointed as the newest board member at the same meeting. He will serve out the term of former board member Grady Welch, who resigned abruptly in early July. The board elected to appoint a replacement rather than hold a more costly special election. Gordon will serve until November 2015.
