— A 23-day demonstration aimed at gathering support for immigration reform makes a stop in Patterson on Friday.

The Pilgrimage for a Pathway to Citizenship starts today in Sacramento and is scheduled to end Sept. 2 in Bakersfield.

Eleven people, representing 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, will walk about 280 miles, meeting with political leaders along the way.

The demonstration will make a stop at 6 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., Patterson. The public is invited.

The demonstration is organized by the community organizing network PICO California and its local group, Congregations Building Community.
