Modesto Nuts fall to Stockton Ports, 6-5

August 10, 2013

The Modesto Nuts twice rallied from two-run deficits but still suffered a disappointing 6-5 loss to the Stockton Ports on Saturday night at Stockton Ballpark. Reliever Scott Oberg (1-6), after retiring the first two Ports in the eighth inning, walked two and then allowed a fisted single to center by Rashun Dixon for the decisive run. Jared Simon drove in three runs for Modesto, which tries to avoid a Stockton sweep tonight. The Nuts and Visalia share first place in the Cal League North.
