MODESTO — Supervisors approved the consent items, including a proposal for an state-and-federal fund transfer to increase revenue to the county Health Services Agency by $1.2 million this year. The increased funding is for the specialty care and rehabilitation clinics.
The meeting is adjourned.
Sheriff Adam Christianson said jail inmate crews have cleaned up more than 4,200 illegal dumpsites along roads and waterways. The haul included 236 tons of trash and 1,573 discarded tires.
The crews also went through almost 1,600 gallons of paint to cover graffiti. And crews are kept busy cleaning blighted public property and doing landscaping projects. The Sheriff's Department has two crews at work, with one deputy supervising 12 inmates, and plans to add two more crews when staff positions are filled.
Good morning. The board has a light agenda today. Sheriff Adam Christianson will give a presentation on the use of inmates to pick up garbage along roadsides. Supervisors started the meeting by honoring Bill Bassitt, who is retiring as chief executive of the Stanislaus Economic Development and Workforce Alliance.
