Modesto Nuts score five runs in fourth inning to beat Stockton Ports

— The Modesto Nuts used a five-run fourth inning to blow past Stockton on Sunday night, beating the Ports 9-7 at John Thurman Field in a game that featured 25 hits.

Modesto had 15 of those hits in the win, with Harold Riggins belting a two-run homer in the second inning and five Nuts batters, including Riggins, getting multi-hit games.

Tyler Massey went 3-for-5 and Will Swanner went 3-for-4 for Modesto.

Nuts starter Tyler Gagnon (10-9) picked up the win, allowing six runs in seven innings. Modesto’s Scott Oberg picked up his 24th save of the season.
