Basically, do what police tell you

August 1, 2013

Regarding "Officers, city named in lawsuit" (July 28, Page A-1): Another story about police being sued. Where do they find these lawyers?

The lawyer said the man is "a country boy who uses profanity." I'm a country girl but I don't use that language, and if a police officer asks me to get back in my car, that is what I do.

I hope the city fights this all the way and shows these lawyers we are through wasting taxpayers' money. I would love to be on this jury. Some years ago I was stopped by a police officer and he told me I should go back to school and learn better English — maybe I should have sued him, too, but this is not the European way. We listen and learn.
