— The Modesto Nuts took advantage of some sloppy Bakersfield defense to score a 6-3 victory Wednesday night in the rubber game of a three-game series at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Modesto trailed 3-0 until it changed the game with five runs in the fourth. Two runs scored when Brian Humphries singled to right and circled the bases after a throwing error by first baseman Steve Selsky. The rally was capped by Drew Beuerlein's two-run single.
