Modesto freeway construction just a ploy

July 29, 2013

The statement by Modesto City Council candidate Bill Zoslocki that building the Highway 132 freeway is more important than commuter rail service is laughable ("ACE service requires a tax," July 25, Page A-1).

Neither construction proposal will create permanent jobs in the local economy. Both proposals will enable Bill and his friends in the residential construction industry to sell homes to more commuters while increasing our taxes.

When will Zoslocki admit that his agenda is to convert thousands of acres of prime farmland on the west side of town into more cookie-cutter housing developments? A 132 freeway will be the perfect facility to serve those houses, won't it?
