Authorities are looking for a driver who hit a woman, killing her, and left her on the side of the road near Patterson early Friday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a passerby found the body along Baldwin Road just south of Highway 33 and called to report it at 4:19 a.m.
The victim has not been identified but is an adult woman, the CHP said.
Investigators collected evidence from the scene and are looking for a 1990s or 2000 Honda Accord with damage to the right front side and a missing right-side mirror. They ask anyone with information on the case to call the CHP at (209) 545-7440.
