Info: The Westside Animals for Adoption event will include a very cute and sweet Jack Russell terrier, Mitzi, whose many talents include playing on trampolines. There's Aida, a fun 10-month-old rottweiler mix who is great with kids. And Sheba, the German shepherd/Queensland who loves to play in the kiddie pool and run through sprinklers. La Grange


When: Aug. 3, 4 to 7 p.m.

Where: IOOF Hall, Main Street

Info: Besides deep-fried catfish fillets, the menu also includes cornbread, coleslaw salad, corn on the cob and coffee, iced tea or lemonade with ice cream cups for dessert for $12, $6 for kids 12 and under. Take-out dinners are also available. Items including a flat-screen television will be raffled off; tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Dinner and raffle tickets are available at the door. Twain Harte


When: Saturday and Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.

Where: Meadow Plaza, downtown Twain Harte

Info: The Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Wines in the Pines in conjunction with the Twain Harte Arts and Wine Festival in downtown Twain Harte. Wines and food will be presented with wine-related gifts for purchase and a raffle each day. Tickets are $20 and include a commemorative wine glass.
