Video: Mornings at the Stanislaus County Fair

July 19, 2013

TURLOCK — On weekdays, the Stanislaus County Fair doesn't open until 5 p.m.

But the animals shown there don't know that, and the care they require makes the fairgrounds a hopping joint each morning.

Members of 4H and FFA clubs — often accompanied by their parents — can be seen at nearly all hours. And judges come in early to take a look at everything from bouquets to bovines.

The fair also schedules special visits in the mornings, when groups can take a spin through some of the displays without the crowds that descend on the the fairgrounds when the gates open.
