Like many people, I do not believe in abortions except for special circumstances such as rape, incest or danger to the health of the mother. I also do not believe that taxpayers should be expected to pay for these abortions, especially when they are used as a method of birth control.
For most people who oppose abortions it is a moral issue; we believe that all life is precious and should be cherished, not tossed in the garbage. I am especially against abortions after the second trimester; this is nothing short of murder and should be illegal. We are told that women should have control over their own bodies and I agree, but don't expect me to pay for their mistakes. I believe that if they had to pay for their own abortions, the abortion rate would drop. People usually are more careful when they are paying the bills.
For the people who believe in abortions, let them fund free clinics. As for the necessity for the taxpayers to support the children who are born, if these women didn't want them anyway, they should be put up for adoption for people who really want them.
