Lots of community fun in Riverbank

July 17, 2013

The first of four Wednesday evening Community Center concerts rocked to the sounds of " Mother Theresa and the Sinners." A few brave souls were even dancing, which was entertaining in itself. Food, activities, and various vendors added to the festivities. Each week a different group will be featured, providing a good time for all.

I am also impressed with the efforts of the Riverbank Community Gardens that sponsors the farmers market on Saturday mornings. Local farmers provide healthy fruits and veggies, along with produce grown by school children learning gardening with the help of the Riverbank FFA. Peaches, whether white or yellow, along with other fruits and veggies are just coming into peak production, assuring a great selection.

Not to be out done, free movies are shown at Jacob Myers Park each month in the summer. Just bring a chair and the family for another rocking good time in the evening under the stars.

So whether it is healthy fruits and veggies, a concert downtown or a movie in the park, look no further. It can all be found in the City of Action.
