On July 8, the Modesto City Schools board voted to ensure four extra years of politics as usual. Extending Superintendent Pam Able's contract is about reaffirming their own egos, protecting the unions' stranglehold on the district and assuring this district continues down the same dusty road of good ole' boy politics.
I applaud the two trustees who voted against this extension. Five board seats are up in November. It should have been the vote of the new board to extend her contract. Or maybe that was their motivation? Seal the deal before it is too late!
At this moment, Cindy Marks is the only incumbent up for re-election worthy of our vote.
