Denair school board to meet Wednesday to discuss more layoffs

— The Denair Unified School District Board will meet at 7 o'clock tonight to consider laying off nearly a dozen elementary and middle school teachers, in addition to high school faculty layoffs, most for one period, made in February.

Teachers normally are protected by a March 15 state notification requirement, but flat funding opened a brief window for additional layoffs, interim Superintendent Walt Hanline said Tuesday.

The meeting will be in the Denair Middle School Coyote Center, 3701 Lester Road, Denair. Find the agenda at http://bit.ly/DenairUnified.
