Let Modesto POW's story inspire us all

July 15, 2013

Thank you, Leroy Myers, for your service and sacrifice ("Long-abused POW wins freedom from hate," July 4, Jeff Jardine column). Your story and your words regarding not wasting life on hate are truly inspiring.

The anecdotal examples of the sweet potatoes being intentionally dropped and the honcho who hid Myers speak of the value that small acts of kindness can have on a life. Let us honor our veterans' sacrifice by not letting an opportunity to serve others pass us by.
