Free youth job training in Modesto

July 13, 2013

— Free job training and placement spots for low-income youth ages 17 to 21 are available at Computer Tutor Business and Technical Institute. Those who finish the three to four months of full-day classes will earn a certificate and placement help until employed, said Director George Rawe.

Classes cover medical clerk, including billing skills and terminology; accounting clerk, including basic billing and payroll processing; and administrative assistant, including office software training. A federal Workforce Investment Act grant will pay for training 60 low-income young adults and offers help with supportive services.
