Modesto and Ceres


When: Today, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Where: Modesto Library, 1500 I Street and Ceres Library, 2250 Magnolia St.

Info: Dressed in an orange jumpsuit with 25 horns strapped to his body, Dave the Horn Guy will deliver an all-ages, interactive, multimedia musical experience like no other at the Modesto and Ceres libraries. The Modesto performance begins at 11 a.m. with tickets available one hour prior to the show. The Ceres Library performance follows at 3 p.m. Performances are free and open to the public. When: Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m.

Where: Community Center Park, 3600 Santa Fe St.

Info: The City of Riverbank Parks and Recreation and the Black Belt Academy host Family Night Fun Nights on Wednesdays throughout July. Local vendors will be available for food and crafts. Where: American Legion Memorial Building, Ninth and Lawrence streets

Info: The VA Palo Alto Health Care System will provide eligibility information for medical or psychological services for veterans of all U.S. Armed Services. The team will also provide exams, consultations and referrals if already in the system. New benefits are available for Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. If not in the system, bring your DD-214. Patterson and Newman


When: Today, 1 and 3 p.m.

Where: Patterson Library, 46 N. Salado and Newman Library, 1305 Kern St.

Info: "Python Ron" McGee brings members of the reptile kingdom to the Stanislaus County Library with performances at 1 p.m. in Patterson and 3 p.m. in Newman. During these special library visits, live reptiles will be showcased and children will have the opportunity to learn about different reptilian species. Where: Black Oak Casino, 19400 Tuolumne Road

Info: The American Legion Auxiliary Modesto Unit 74 is sponsoring a casino bus trip to Black Oak Casino. Cost is $20 with $10 free play, $5 match play and 10 percent off dining. Pickup locations are Turlock/Wal-Mart, Modesto/Vintage Faire Mall and Oakdale/Sierra Train Depot. All participants must be 21 years or older.
