Forecast calls for heat of the ordinary kind

July 12, 2013

— As the Stanislaus County Fair gets under way, there is good news on the weather front: It’s going to be hot, but not hot hot.

The forecast for this weekend and into next week calls for highs in the 90s and lows in the 60s. It’s pretty bearable, particularly with the temperatures cooling off enough at night to open the windows and let the air conditioner take a breather.

According to the National Weather Service, Delta breezes are to credit for the cooling trend. Those breezes will drop off a bit this weekend, forecasters say, bringing temperatures up from the low 90s to the mid 90s. But overnight lows will still dip down into the 60s each night, so if you’re headed to the fair you might want to bring along a sweater.
