Supreme Court needs shaking up

July 11, 2013

It's time to shake up the U.S. Supreme Court. There have been too many 4 yeses and 4 noes with one justice casting the deciding vote. If that is the case, then we should get rid of the other eight justices. It should be either 7-2 or 8-1 or 9-0 to pass a crucial decision such as gay marriage.

They vote four and four based upon their party they belong to or on the party of the president that appointed them. They were supposed to be scholars of the law and not their own personal feelings on the subject.

They should not be appointed for life. They should only be appointed for eight years. This could be accomplished by the following:

The two oldest members retire two years from now.

The next two oldest be retired four years from now.

The next two oldest be retired six years from now.

Then the last three would be retired eight years from now.
