Columbia State Historic Park will hold murder-mystery mornings, with park staff and costumed volunteers re-enacting a double homicide from history, the 1855 Smith-Barclay tragedy.
The public is invited to participate in the investigation, watching the re-enactment, walking through the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and participating in the coroner's inquest. The violent nature of the event may make it inappropriate for children under 12.
History's Mysteries will begin at 10 a.m. July 27, Aug. 3, Aug. 17, and Aug. 31. Cost is $5. For more information and reservations (recommended), call (209) 588-9128.
