Events vital to show support for community

July 2, 2013

Building partnerships with community groups is one of the most successful law enforcement techniques. Attending an event like Make Dreams Real golf tournament, displaying the sheriff's helicopter, is a great way of showing law enforcement is committed to the community and cares about efforts that do positive things for our children.

Using public money in helping charities get kids to attend education programs and to stimulate their minds is an excellent use of our money. It helps our children get started or turned in a positive direction. Cultural diversity workshops, clergy liaison programs and youth services are effective. It helps the police and the public work together toward our common goals.

Thank you to both our police and Sheriff's Department personnel. Keep up the great work!
