CHP: Two arrested in stolen car near Jamestown

— The California Highway Patrol said it arrested a driver and his passenger after the driver fled from an officer in a stolen vehicle for nearly a mile near Jamestown and then struck another officer's car while trying to avoid capture.

The incident happened about 9:10 p.m. Saturday on Chicken Ranch Road west of Table Mountain Road, according to a CHP news release issued Sunday.

Officers arrested San Jose resident Christopher James Souza, 29, on four felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant from Santa Clara County as well as on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of stolen property.

San Jose resident Jenifer Kailine Reeder, 29, was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and drug paraphernalia.

The release said officers found goods stolen from several stores and a vehicle master key.
