SENIOR LEMONADE DAY

When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Standiford Place, 3420 Shawnee Drive

Info: Inspired by Youth Lemonade Day, the residents (average age 83 years old) at Standiford Place are conducting their own Senior Lemonade Day. They want to give back and need the support of the public to stop by for a cold, refreshing lemonade. The charity they are giving to is Outward Bound For Vets. Any size donation will be appreciated. VETERAN BOOK EVENT

When: Thursday, 8 a.m to 3 p.m.

Where: Graceada Park, Needham St.

Info: The Central Valley Veterans League will make available their book "The Conflict That Was A War In Vietnam And At Home" at the July 4 celebration at Graceada Park following the parade. The book contains 19 short stories, written by Vietnam veterans, about some of their experiences in Southeast Asia and their return to American society. VETS 4 VETS also will have a booth at the park with military hats, pins, decals and other items for sale. Proceeds from the sale of the book and the military items go to help veteran programs.
