Puddle of Mudd part of this year's X-Fest in Modesto

— Modern-rock band Puddle of Mudd, pop singer Aaron Carter and hard rockers Y&T are among the featured acts set for X-Fest this year, the massive downtown Modesto music festival set for Aug. 3.

According to the event website, other artists performing include Moonshine Bandits, Dancetronauts, J-Boog, Natural Vibrations and Iration. More than 60 bands in total are promised at the 14th annual event.

Tickets are $20 in advance for the 21-and-older festival. Doors will open at 5 p.m. at the entrance at 10th and J streets in Modesto. For more, see www.xfestmodesto.com.

Color Me Badd to play Fat Cat in Modesto

R&B group Color Me Badd, which had hits in the 1990s, will play a show on Saturday at the Fat Cat House Music & Lounge in downtown Modesto.

The band found breakthrough success with its 1991 single "I Wanna Sex You Up," which topped R&B charts and hit double platinum in sales. Other hits include "I Adore Mi Amor," "All 4 Love" and "Slow Motion."

Jerry Seinfeld takes comedy to Stockton

Superstar comedian Jerry Seinfeld performs his stand-up routine July 25 at the Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton.

Seinfeld, whose eponymous sitcom was one of television's most popular shows, is known for his ability to joke about the little things in life.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Bob Hope, 242 E Main St. Tickets are $62.50-$77.50; limited balcony seats still were available at press time.
