Any way you want it: Journey tribute band to play West Side Theatre in Newman

— Journey Revisited looks to relive the glory days of Journey next weekend during the tribute band's show at the West Side Theatre in Newman.

The band recreates songs made famous by the megastar classic rock band. The show is June 29, at the West Side Theatre, 1331 Main St., Newman. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $17 general, $20 reserved with children and students admitted for half price.

More tributes at Black Oak — to Stevie Nicks, Huey Lewis

The classic rock tributes keep on coming in the region with two more bands set to play Black Oak Casino this weekend.

Tonight, Bella Donna, a Stevie Nicks tribute, takes the stage at 9 p.m. On Saturday, Super Huey, a tribute to Huey Lewis and the News, plays, also at 9 p.m.

Both shows are free and will be in the Black Oak Casino's Willow Creek Lounge, 7 miles east of Sonora, off Highway 108 in Tuolumne. For more, see or call (877) 747-8777.

Black Sabbath tribute at the Fat Cat

A Black Sabbath Tribute Festival hits the Fat Cat Music House & Lounge on Saturday. The night of heavy metal rock music will feature about 20 bands in a four-hour show at the downtown Modesto venue.

Modesto-area bands and artists performing include DAM, Eli Allsup, Charlie Frequency, The Notalauts, Punk A Pilgrim, Eroszion, Antonius, Zombie Death Stench and more.

Klocek's comedy at Fat Cat

Comedian Joe Klocek takes his riffs, headlines and humor to the Fat Cat Music House & Lounge on June 28.

Klocek, who has appeared on the "Live at Gotham" TV comedy show, will be joined by fellow comedians Stephen Furey and Anthony K.

Ex-Santana players at Hero's

Derek Rolando & Desert Chant, which includes two artists who formerly played with rock band Santana, will play next weekend at Hero's Sports Bar.

Percussionist Rolando brings in the band that also includes former Santana members Dave Mathews on keyboards and singer Tony Lindsay, along with Collin Douglas on drums, Dave Belove bass and Ken Harril on guitar. The band plays high energy Latin, rock, R&B and jazz.

The show is June 28, 6:30-10 p.m. at Hero's Sports Bar, 821 L St., Modesto. Tickets are $15 in advance from or $15 at the door. For more call (209) 524-2337.

Zydeco Dance Party returns

The Zydeco Dance Party returns to Eagles Hall in Modesto next weekend.

A dance lesson with Zydeco Ted Sherrod kicks off the night at 7:30 with the Blues Box Bayou Band taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. Food will be available beginning at 7 p.m. at the hall, 126 Camelia Ave., at Yosemite Blvd., Modesto.
