MODESTO — A man who stole a baby monitor Sunday from the Toys R Us store on Sisk Road pulled a knife when confronted by store employees, Modesto police said.
At about 3:15 p.m., the suspected shoplifter placed the monitor in a backpack and started to leave the store, Lt. Scott Blom said. Employees tried to stop him as he came out of the store.
Blom said the man pulled out a butchers knife and threatened to stab the employees. He fled on foot north along Sisk Road.
The man was described as white, in his mid-20s, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a black baseball hat with flames on the bill.
