MODESTO — Modesto police are investigating five drive-by shootings that occurred Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.
No one was injured and witnesses provided only a sketchy description of suspects for two of the incidents, police said.
At about 8 p.m. Saturday, bullets struck a residence in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in west Modesto. The gunman was described as a Latino man with shoulder-length hair.
At around 3 a.m., shots were fired at a residence from a four-door Buick in the 1000 block of Muriel Avenue. A witness told police three to four people were in the car.
Later in the morning, a home and parked vehicle were struck by numerous rounds in the 200 block of Leon Avenue.
Shootings also were reported in the 2100 block of Chrysler Drive, west of Prescott Road, where a bullet struck the windshield of a parked vehicle, and the 800 block of Bristlecone Way, where residents awoke to find bullet holes in the exterior of a home and a parked vehicle, police said.
Authorities had not determined whether the incidents were related.
