Fire breaks out in boarded-up Modesto home

Modesto Regional Fire Authority crews were called to a boarded-up home in the 300 block of Linden Street in west Modesto about 9 p.m. Friday.

Smoke poured from the eaves and the rear bedroom was well involved when fire engines arrived, said Battalion Chief Alan Ernst.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading throughout the house. There were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $60,000.
