PATTERSON — Two more suspects have been arrested in association with a Patterson kidnap for ransom case, leaving one suspect outstanding.
Arturo "Rascal" Martinez, 20, of Modesto and Adan "Burner" Esquivel, 22, of Patterson were arrested Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping of a man from rural Stanislaus County on Saturday.
Authorities said the suspects drove the victim to a home in Patterson, where they assaulted him for nine hours because they believed he had stolen from them. The suspects called the victim's family, demanding $800 to pay them back before they would let him go, investigators said.
With the help of a Crime Stoppers tip, the Modesto police Street Gang Unit located Martinez in the 500 block of Olivero Road. Adan Esquivel, 22, of Patterson was located and arrested by Patterson Police Services Detective Terrence Shadel, who found him walking in the 100 block of East Las Palmas in Patterson.
Jonathan Figueroa, 22, of Modesto was arrested Sunday when deputies surrounded the Patterson house in the 600 block of Spooner Court. Investigators are still looking for Victor "Cuate" Sandoval, 21, of Patterson.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued on the same charges the other three men face: kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, conspiracy by a person involved in gang activity and criminal gang activity.
Investigators ask anyone with information about the case or the suspects' whereabouts to call Detective Frank Soria at (209) 525-7080.
