I agree with the letter-writer about Tenth Street Plaza. When it first opened, the economy was better and the plaza seemed to be thriving.
However, the downtown area catered to the clubbers with a number of drinking establishments. Are the Friday and Saturday nights of barricaded streets and a police presence all but forgotten?
It would be insane to cave into the suggestions of a few and open the plaza. Instead, consider extending it south on 10th Street and make more of the area family and pedestrian friendly.
Isn't that why the parklets were put in?
